Canon & Power Updates!

This is where you submit your canon and/or power updates to us for mod approval.

In Short: Once approved, canon and power updates require that your character be ported out by a "Porter glitch" for a minimum of 24 hours. You'll also make a post to maskormenaceooc announcing the update, as well as your character's departure and estimated return dates.

Info & Rules

Canon Updates. A canon update is where a character "returns" to their home universe at the moment they last remember and lives out some amount of their story before being brought back via the Porter.

While in their home canon, characters will not remember their time in game, nor will they take anything with them. The original story will play out as it would have if they'd never come to Mask or Menace. When they're ported back in to Cape Canaveral, their memories of their time in game will come flooding back to them.

If a character ages in game then returns to their canon and ages there, they will return to Cape Canaveral at whatever the older age is. Similarly, any physical changes that occur in game may return when they're brought back, or you may wipe that slate clean if you prefer.

Note that a minimum of two weeks must have passed since the target canon point's release date before you can submit a canon update.

Power Updates. A power update is pretty straightforward! If you ever want to drop a power from your character's set, add a new one, or adjust the scope of it, this is where you request that. Power changes made here are subject to the same three-umbrella restrictions as found on the application page.

Other Alterations. In special circumstances, players might seek out a more involved type of update. Characters may be:

• rewound, or pushed backwards in their canon to an earlier time, e.g., moving from Season 8 to Season 2.
• exchanged for the same character from a different version of the canon, e.g., trading the book version of a character to their more campy interpretation in a stage musical.
• given a "hard reset."

In each of these cases, the character will lose all memories and CR acquired in the game setting. This process cannot be reversed, so be careful before choosing this!

General Notes. Your character will be ported out for a minimum of 24 hours. There is no maximum length, but standard monthly activity requirements still apply. For extended absences, visit the Hiatus page.

All power and canon updates must first be approved by the mods.

If a downgrade/side-shift/reset, your reasons for the change and just how different they'll be. For a power set, what are they losing/what are they gaining? Remember, the more detail you give us to start, the easier the process will go!

While we're going to approve this, we're going to ask to limit the number she can control up to five depending on the sizes and capabilities of the drones when she has mastered her new power.

Power update approved. Also power updating her during the crossover is indeed fine! The update will proceed as it would, limitations as per usual.
